I don't think I really understand the concept of twitter. I don't mean, "I don't get why people use it," I mean, I don't get how it works???

Kinda feel like my grandma right now. The one who told me her computer was too old for facebook.

I don't think people who use Twitter know why they use Twitter.

I think I DO know why people use the Twitter....it's because they're Twits (Slang: A foolishly annoying person/Informal, chiefly British: a foolish or stupid person; idiot)!!!!

Is there no one who will answer your question Ciara? I'll take a stab at it.

Basically, you send a text to Twitter and anyone who is following you will get that text. There are variations from there, for example instead of texting you can post your "tweet" from their web site, or you can use a third-party application. You can follow other people and you will get their tweets as well. You can choose whether you want to receive them as texts or have to log into their web site or use another app to see it.

No Farmville or other apps; security is straightforward: you're either all public or all private; if you want to post pictures or other things, they need to be hosted elsewhere and then you link to it. Because it is built around SMS, the length of your tweet is limited to 140 characters.

If you are interested in details of getting started I can help you out.
