This is sad. I was watching the news about the kid who died in the police shooting this past Saturday, and it turns out one of the officers being investigated is the officer who helped find my brother on the night he was missing. He is a good guy, and the media just eats up stuff like this.
So I hope everything goes well for him, even though the situation totally sucks.

Wow. That's crazy.

I did see a clip of that news thing (I think I was at my mom's house when she was watching the news) and it made me really sad.

I also hate how the media distorts things.

distortion or selective reporting? are they necessarily the same thing?

I don't think you need to worry about your officer friend. Its covered in the news and the papers that authorities, not only in Oregon but accross the nation as well, said that the officers were going by the book and ended up performing what they were taught. It was not a wrong doing or anything like that. So no worries. THe kid was within 25 ft with a knife in hand, meaning in one second this kid could have stabbed an officer in the chest before the officer had a chance to retrieve his gun. So no worries.
